This article was in the New York Times earlier this month but I wasn’t able to blog it until now because things here have been nuts, I’ve been sick, and our internet has been really, really weird. Anyway. This is a really great article about how Secretary Clinton has used food as a tool of diplomacy during her tenure as Secretary of State. It’s awesome to see someone as high up as the Secretary recognizing what a truly powerful tool food can be for diplomacy. It makes me excited to be working for the department and hopeful that in the future I can really make a difference, one cupcake at a time.
Semi-unrelated: there are rumors going around at work that there’s going to be a bake-off at post later this summer. I’m already testing recipes. Pictures to come!
